DIY Tutorial: How to Kawaii-ify Your Winter Boots (Super Sweet ❤)

Hey guys ❤

It's getting colder outside, which means that most of you are either:

1. Surrendering your impeccable fashion sense to Uggs in exchange for warmth

1. Surrendering your last four paychecks to import footwear that is both cute and warm

Luckily for you, I'm here to let you know that there is in fact a third option >:)

On to the tutorial  o(^^o) (o^^)o

For this tutorial, you will need:

• Fabric Paint
• Fabric Glue
• Craft Fur (I used two pre-packaged pieces of fur, but I'd recommend visiting a fabric store)
• Two decorative centerpieces, such as bows or flowers

 

Start with a pair of boots no longer worthy of seeing the outdoors. This is what mine looked like after being washed, so it's safe to say that it was time for them to retire.

Using fabric paint, paint them in a shade of your choosing. If you make a mistake, use a wet q-tip or sponge to clean up the area.

Depending on the dimensions of your craft fur, this step may or may not be necessary. Fold fur in half.

Cut down the center. This was only necessary because my fur wasn't quite long enough to cover the circumference of my boots~

Using fabric glue, secure fur to the boot.

If you're left with a gap, cut a piece of craft fur equal to the length of the exposed area.

Use fabric glue to secure the smaller piece of fur. To ensure that the pieces blend seamlessly, make sure that the hair of each piece points in the same direction.

Repeat for your second shoe.

Time for bows! Use fabric glue to secure bows to craft fur.

Dry overnight.

My Hime Inspired Eyeglass Case❤

I've had this post in the making for several weeks now. I'm so sorry for putting it off X_x

I've been having so much fun in school!

Before I left for school, I wanted to ensure that I carried my eyeglasses with style, so I decorated it ^^. If you'd like to see how, please stay tuned for the tutorial.

Start with a plain eyeglass case. 

Gather any/all paints, decorations, and embellishments necessary to achieve your desired look. I ultimately used spray paint, glitter, lace, glitter ribbon, a large fabric flower, and heart shaped rhinestone stickers.

Using craft spray paint, apply a thin coat of paint to your eyeglass case. Apply as many coats as necessary.

While wet with final coat of paint, sprinkle eyeglass case with craft glitter.

Once dry, retrieve lace trim of you choosing.

Using hot glue and/or E6000, secure trim around case edges

Add accent ribbon.

Decorate with small gems and floral centerpiece.

Secure a small bow atop case closure.

Voila! Now you have an eyeglass case that requires another case to avoid damage of our decorations x)

Or if you're like me, you can just chuck in a drawer and forget about it because you find glasses to be a hassle >< (so much for carrying glasses in style -.-)

DIY Hime Gyaru Handbag

I've already made post about decorating handbags (in fact, it was my very first post), but it was poorly done and wasn't very helpful or specific >< So consider this as kind of a...supplement (?) to that post.

Start with a plain handbag. I purchased this one from the thrift store for about $3.

There's no way that I could make a list of things needed for this tutorial, just look at this picture X) Besides, most of my decorations are improvisational. There's never a real plan. The picture above is composed of all the things that I gathered as possible things to use. I didn't use all of them, they're just examples >_>

I mixed a little bit of pink acrylic paint with white paint to create a very light baby pink color.

I then used the mixed paint to cover the largest areas of the handbag. I also used white paint to reinforce the accent flap of the bag~

Using a super cheap (it was literally like $0.88) broken pearl necklace, I created a trim for the flap.

Add a pretty lacy trim to the underside of the flap so that it is visible from the outside, but no one can see where or how it was attached.

Time for flowers of course ^^~ they're a necessity.

It still looked a bit empty, so I added a large bow to the top of the bag and a small ribbon bow to the bottom. On top of the small ribbon bow, I added a Victorian button piece. On the underside of the handbag I attached more lace trimming.

Lastly, I used smaller rose pieces as the trim for the upper flap. This part took so long >< I had to snip the flowers from the bouquet, then hot glue them to hold their shapes (otherwise they would unravel), and then glue each one to the bag.

Well, this has been a long (and pic-heavy) post. I hope that you guys are somewhat inspired to try something like this <333 ^^

Cute Yarn Hair Clips (Simple)

A few years ago, I was browsing a website and saw something similar to these up for sale. To be honest, the ones for purchase looked much better than the ones that I've made T_T but I still thought that maybe I should share in case someone could take the basics and improve upon the technique.

So, you'll need:

• Yarn (any color). Actually, gradient  yarn looks fantastic for this kind of project. Mine is a kind of "fuzzy" yarn, which is probably not the best type to use for this.
• Cardboard
• Hot glue
• Hair clips
• Any extra decorations for your hair clips

Draw the shape of your desired hair clip on your piece of cardboard. (Mine is a shoe box)

Cut out the shape.

Use hot glue to secure the first piece of yarn to your cardboard shape.

Wrap the yarn from top to bottom of the piece of cardboard all the way across the shape, then repeat from left to right. Cover the shape from left to right about three times, or until the cardboard color can no longer be seen. Any "extra" decorations can be added in this step Lastly, hot glue a snap hair clip to the back  of the shape.

Well...that's all ._.

Not such a great post, but maybe it can give someone a bit of inspiration. If someone comes up with a different technique, feel free to mention it ^^

NOTD: Magic Sparkle Ribbon

I love using sparkles in nail art. I think that nails are the best place to incorporate sparkles and glitter into one's appearance. It's just so subtle and pretty ^^

Colors Used:

• China Glaze - Inner Beauty
• L.A. Colors - (No color name...the sparkly one =P )

Simple Hime Gyaru Bow

Hair accessories are my favorite kind of accessory to make. I rarely venture outside of this realm with the exception of decoden (which I love, but I only do so often.) I pretty much make new hair accessories every week, and here's what I made this week:

Step 1. Gather the material that you would like to use while making your bow and cut it into a rectangular shape. (Mine pictured is about 4" x 10" for reference) It doesn't have to be perfectly even, I promise ^^

Fold and glue both sides towards the center (I just used a hot glue gun). You can trim the edges to make them match up here if you'd like, but it really is not necessary.

Gather a roll of pretty ribbon. 

Use the ribbon to close off the open edges of the material.

 Use your fingers to make several cinches in the center of the rectangle and use hot glue to hold in place. Be careful of burning yourself! There's probably a better way to do this, but I probably haven't thought about it hard enough >_>

I also used a different ribbon  in the center to make it a bit more interesting.

From here, anything else is optional. You can quit now and leave things pretty simple or....

Add lace, ribbon, or flowers like I did. I also continued on to make another more plain bow. You can leave your bow as-is and use it for clothing or decoration, or use a clip to turn it into a hair accessory (like I did).

Whatever you do with it, just enjoy ^_^.
