DIY Tutorial: How to Kawaii-ify Your Winter Boots (Super Sweet ❤)

Hey guys ❤

It's getting colder outside, which means that most of you are either:

1. Surrendering your impeccable fashion sense to Uggs in exchange for warmth

1. Surrendering your last four paychecks to import footwear that is both cute and warm

Luckily for you, I'm here to let you know that there is in fact a third option >:)

On to the tutorial  o(^^o) (o^^)o

For this tutorial, you will need:

• Fabric Paint
• Fabric Glue
• Craft Fur (I used two pre-packaged pieces of fur, but I'd recommend visiting a fabric store)
• Two decorative centerpieces, such as bows or flowers

 

Start with a pair of boots no longer worthy of seeing the outdoors. This is what mine looked like after being washed, so it's safe to say that it was time for them to retire.

Using fabric paint, paint them in a shade of your choosing. If you make a mistake, use a wet q-tip or sponge to clean up the area.

Depending on the dimensions of your craft fur, this step may or may not be necessary. Fold fur in half.

Cut down the center. This was only necessary because my fur wasn't quite long enough to cover the circumference of my boots~

Using fabric glue, secure fur to the boot.

If you're left with a gap, cut a piece of craft fur equal to the length of the exposed area.

Use fabric glue to secure the smaller piece of fur. To ensure that the pieces blend seamlessly, make sure that the hair of each piece points in the same direction.

Repeat for your second shoe.

Time for bows! Use fabric glue to secure bows to craft fur.

Dry overnight.

My Hime Inspired Eyeglass Case❤

Hey guys!

I've had this post in the making for several weeks now. I'm so sorry for putting it off X_x

I've been having so much fun in school!

Before I left for school, I wanted to ensure that I carried my eyeglasses with style, so I decorated it ^^. If you'd like to see how, please stay tuned for the tutorial.

Start with a plain eyeglass case. 

Gather any/all paints, decorations, and embellishments necessary to achieve your desired look. I ultimately used spray paint, glitter, lace, glitter ribbon, a large fabric flower, and heart shaped rhinestone stickers.

Using craft spray paint, apply a thin coat of paint to your eyeglass case. Apply as many coats as necessary.

While wet with final coat of paint, sprinkle eyeglass case with craft glitter.

Once dry, retrieve lace trim of you choosing.

Using hot glue and/or E6000, secure trim around case edges

Add accent ribbon.

Decorate with small gems and floral centerpiece.

Secure a small bow atop case closure.

Voila! Now you have an eyeglass case that requires another case to avoid damage of our decorations x)

Or if you're like me, you can just chuck in a drawer and forget about it because you find glasses to be a hassle >< (so much for carrying glasses in style -.-)

DIY Fairy Kei Winged Sneakers ❤

Hi guys! First things first...
 I feel like this blog is really impersonal =/
Soooo I'd like some suggestions on the kinds of posts you guys would like to see from me ^^. I have plenty of tutorial ideas, but you can suggest those as well. Do you guys want to see me play with makeup? Clothing? Food? I just feel like I'm stuck in a rut ><. I'm not sure that I want this to be a blog of tutorials exclusively. It's not interesting to everyone xD


I'm pretty excited about this tutorial, because I've been getting lots off compliments on these shoes :)

I nabbed this idea from this original tumblr post. 
I've seen a lot of fairy kei girls wearing winged sneakers in their OOTDs on Tumblr, and they always look awesome. So I made some ^^

You will need:

• sneakers
• a piece of foam
• a hole punch
• scissors

This tutorial is so easy x)

It'll probably end up being like 3 sentences max xD

Draw a rough draft of your wing shape. You probably don't want this to be too much longer than the side of your shoe~

Cut it out ^^

Take out your shoe laces, and place your shoe wing against the side.

Use a pen to mark the piece of foam through each of the shoe lace holes. This is to ensure that you know were to use the hole punch~

Use your hole punch in the areas that you designated with marks.

Lace them up, and you're done ^^.

I reeeallly want to make a pair of super awesomely awesome high top fairy kei sneakers like this:

I could totally DIY these~

But the shoes that I would need to start with are so expensive T_T

DIY Hime Gyaru Lace/Ribbon Chokers

Ohh tumblr, how I love thee :p

I always see such pretty things on tumblr, and I cant help but be inspired!

A few days ago I came across this post:

It looks sooo simple, yet very cute!

Honestly, I can't believe that I hadn't thought of it before~

It just seems like a no-brainer!

The original photo is obviously fairy kei inspired, but mine will be hime gyaru inspired. It's just a matter of convenience, since most of my supplies are more applicable to hime styles~

You will need:

• Flat lace ribbon (or any kind of ribbon, for that matter)
• Jewelry jump rings
• Jewelry closure/ clasp
• Jewelry chain
• Misc decorations

Retrieve a clasp and jump ring.

Loop the clasp through the jump ring.

Since the ribbon I'm using has loops, I looped the clasp through one of the pre-made holes >< If you're using lace, it's pretty much the same deal~

Retrieve a jump ring and a segment of jewelry chain.

Attach the chain in the same way that we attached the clasp~

Add pretty decorations ^^ I don't know what to say besides this x)

So.... yup ^^

 That was a super easy tutorial! Even so, I really like my results. I've worn both a few times, and nothing bad has happened to either of them. I hope you enjoy yours as well :)

OH, and thanks so much to everyone that participated in my poll! However, I wasn't sure how to go about giving tips since my room is already decorated >_>

So instead, I just made a quick tumblog of pretty rooms that I suppose you guys can use for inspiration xD. I figured that tumblr would be the best platform for this kind of thing because I can keep everything in one place ^^ I'll probably make a tab on my blog full of the same pictures for ease of access eventually...but tumblr is just so quick and easy x)

There are so many good ideas! I didn't actually look for inspiration before doing my room, but I certainly wish I had T_T

My next tutorial is going to be extremely awesomely awesome. It's more of a fairy kei tutorial, but it's probably one of my favorites. I was debating whether or not I should release this post or that one this week, and I ended up releasing this one. I also have one about hime-fying your school stuff, but I have quite a bit of time to put that one out :)

DIY Candy Jewelry Tutorial

In my last post, I shared a photo of some "candy" jewelry pieces that I had recently made. Candy themed jewelry seems to be popular among people that subscribe to the fairy kei or pastel goth styles, both of which I find very pretty :) This is two tutorials in one, so just bear with me on the length x)

Okay!

Tutorial #1: Lollipop Charms

You will need:

• Oven bake colored clay
• Eye pins
• "Lollipop sticks"

Separate 3 similarly sized lumps of clay.

Roll out each lump separately into a cylindrical form and lay them side by side.

Ummm...do this ^

I'm not sure how to explain this step, but I don't believe that it really needs an explanation, right?

Roll out the attached pieces of clay to your desired thickness.

Carefully twist the formation until it appears similar to the above image.

I apologize for the gross yellow lighting =/ I moved to the kitchen in order to make use of the granite countertops. Choose one end of your clay formation as the center. Fold over the very tip~

Roll the twisted formation into a circular pattern. Insert an eye pin through the side of your lollipop. This will be the top of your lollipop. Insert your "lollipop stem" through the opposite side of the lollipop.

Skip to the end to learn about "baking" the jewelry pieces. No, I didn't necessarily think this out very well as I took photos.

Tutorial #2: Marshmallow Pole Charms

You will need:

• Oven bake clay
• Eye pins
• an ID card or credit card

Separate two similarly sized lumps of clay.

Roll them into a cylindrical shape.

Twist the cylinders together until it looks like this ^.

Comparing my clay marshmallow pole to a real marshmallow pole.

Using an ID card, slice through the clay pole.

Insert an eye pin through the center of your charm~

Repeat this for each of the clay pieces.

Tutorial #3: Baking the pieces

Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

Arrange each piece on the foil so that none of them are touching.

Bake according to the instructions on your clay.

After your pieces have been baked, you are free to decorate them in whichever way that you'd like.

To use your lollipop charms on a necklace, just attach a small jump ring and slip it onto a chain ^^. I feel think this tutorial may have seemed confusing, but it's actually verrry simple once you begin! Have fun everyone!
