DIY Tutorial: How to Kawaii-ify Your Winter Boots (Super Sweet ❤)

It's getting colder outside, which means that most of you are either:

1. Surrendering your impeccable fashion sense to Uggs in exchange for warmth

1. Surrendering your last four paychecks to import footwear that is both cute and warm

Luckily for you, I'm here to let you know that there is in fact a third option >:)

On to the tutorial  o(^^o) (o^^)o

For this tutorial, you will need:

• Fabric Paint
• Fabric Glue
• Craft Fur (I used two pre-packaged pieces of fur, but I'd recommend visiting a fabric store)
• Two decorative centerpieces, such as bows or flowers

 

Start with a pair of boots no longer worthy of seeing the outdoors. This is what mine looked like after being washed, so it's safe to say that it was time for them to retire.

Using fabric paint, paint them in a shade of your choosing. If you make a mistake, use a wet q-tip or sponge to clean up the area.

Depending on the dimensions of your craft fur, this step may or may not be necessary. Fold fur in half.

Cut down the center. This was only necessary because my fur wasn't quite long enough to cover the circumference of my boots~

Using fabric glue, secure fur to the boot.

If you're left with a gap, cut a piece of craft fur equal to the length of the exposed area.

Use fabric glue to secure the smaller piece of fur. To ensure that the pieces blend seamlessly, make sure that the hair of each piece points in the same direction.

Repeat for your second shoe.

Time for bows! Use fabric glue to secure bows to craft fur.

Dry overnight.

My Hime Inspired Eyeglass Case❤

I've had this post in the making for several weeks now. I'm so sorry for putting it off X_x

I've been having so much fun in school!

Before I left for school, I wanted to ensure that I carried my eyeglasses with style, so I decorated it ^^. If you'd like to see how, please stay tuned for the tutorial.

Start with a plain eyeglass case. 

Gather any/all paints, decorations, and embellishments necessary to achieve your desired look. I ultimately used spray paint, glitter, lace, glitter ribbon, a large fabric flower, and heart shaped rhinestone stickers.

Using craft spray paint, apply a thin coat of paint to your eyeglass case. Apply as many coats as necessary.

While wet with final coat of paint, sprinkle eyeglass case with craft glitter.

Once dry, retrieve lace trim of you choosing.

Using hot glue and/or E6000, secure trim around case edges

Add accent ribbon.

Decorate with small gems and floral centerpiece.

Secure a small bow atop case closure.

Voila! Now you have an eyeglass case that requires another case to avoid damage of our decorations x)

Or if you're like me, you can just chuck in a drawer and forget about it because you find glasses to be a hassle >< (so much for carrying glasses in style -.-)

DIY Hime Gyaru Deco Nail Art

I hadn't made a nail set in a long time (and I still have a few that I haven't worn), so I decided to make use of my free time and make a new one.

Materials:

• Deco nail pieces (pearls, rhinestones, etc)
• Toothpicks (for placing pieces onto nail)
• Clear polish and color polish
• False nails

I'll also be using Wet n Wild megalast polish in "Sugar Coat"

By the way, it's okay to use a cheaper polish when painting on false nails. False nails are smoother (so there's rarely any streaking with any polish) and more evenly colored (so fewer coats are necessary).

To keep the nail set in place while I'm decorating, I just attach a few pieces of tape to the table.

Paint the sizes of nails that you expect to use (As seen in the photo, I did not paint the largest nail because I know from experience that it's too big for me). Set out the largest deco pieces that you expect to use.

Brush a bit of clear polish onto the tip of a toothpick and use it to pick up and place the large pieces onto wet nails. If too much time has passed and the nails are no longer wet, just brush some of the clear polish onto the surface of the nails before placement.

Next, use smaller rhinestones (or pearls) to add complexity. There's no real "formula" for this part, it just takes a bit of creativity to make up an arrangement. I can offer examples but I don't actually have any helpful advice xD (sorry).

The last nail had me at a loss, so I just made a "flower" with a large pearl as the center and small pink rhinestones as the petals.

iPod Shuffle Hime Gyaru Decoden

I was going through my drawers of stuff that I rarely ever look through, and I happened to find my old iPod shuffle. I had no clue what to do with it, since I knew that it wasn't very useful to me now that I have an iPhone.

Soo...

I decorated it.

Okayokayokay I know, not the best work. I wasn't very happy with it either =/ But there are so many other uses for this that won't necessitate having it look pretty...I'll get to that later.

Right now I'm just going to give a quick breakdown on how I usually deco my things.

Select whatever you wish to deco and wipe it off with alcohol. Seriously, you may think you can skip this step...but that comes with the risk of dust being trapped under your glue which will make your pieces adhere to the surface poorly (Actually, I rarely do this step myself. I remain unconvinced that there is a significant difference whether I use alcohol or not. However, my luck is not your luck. I'd feel bad if I told you to skip this step and your decorations fell off T_T).

Set out all significant pieces on or around your iPod. In this step, you at least want to have out your border and larger pieces.

Spread some of your glue (I always recommend using E6000 for everything!) over a small surface. Begin placing your border pieces around the edges of your iPod. I always glue the outside border first so that I can be sure that the pieces that I put inside will not interfere with how the border turns out. After all, the border is the only part of this that needs to be pretty neat. Anything else I can always move around to suit the configuration.

After finishing the border, you can fill in the spaces with your other pieces and just finish up. Hopefully yours will have turned out better than mine. As you can see,my pink bow no longer fit after I had finished my border T_T

Hime Gyaru Camera Decoden ❤

I actually completed this project a while ago, but I happened to have some photo documentation so I decided to make a post~
There are tons of tutorial posts like this one, so why bother writing one myself? Because its my turn to show off ┌(;￣◇￣)┘

I have a pretty hefty stash of decoden supplies to begin with, but I'll include some places where one may be able to establish their own stash ^^ I'll only suggest links that I've actually used.

There are many many things available here, and one of the shops greatest virtues is that shipping is reasonably fast and inexpensive. The supplies are very good value, and it is very easy to find exactly what you are looking for. Their stock includes nail sets, nail art supplies, and decoden supplies.

Another option that I enjoy is http://www.bornprettystore.com/ .

However...if you're in a hurry to get your supplies, this is NOT the place to go. Although shipping is free, it's pretty slow. This shop sells many types of beauty supplies, rather than specializing in items for nail art. Most items are sold in sets inexpensively.

I like to keep my most popular supplies in a little plastic box to keep things organized, like this:

Items from http://www.bornprettystore.com/ usually come packaged in plastic wheels, and I leave them as such.

As for the glue that I use, I find E6000 to be the most cooperative.

The last few pictures are less-than-desirable in quality because my camera was not in a position to take photos of itself at the time, and so I made due with my phone >_>
