DIY Fairy Kei Painted Sneakers

Hi everyone~

I've been extremely interested in making fairy kei themed accessories lately ^^. The style is extremely DIY-able, so of course I found myself tempted to experiment. This isn't really a tutorial...more like an incomplete photo narration of this project ><

I was inspired by these pictures, and my design was like a combination of the two:

You will need:

• Plain canvas sneakers
• Paintbrushes
• Fabric paint

Start by painting the shoes in your desired base colors.

After the initial layer of paint has dried, begin painting your design.

.....I had no idea how to be more specific about this tutorial, so...sorry ^^

I plan on making a few more tutorials like this wherein I am more specific.

DIY Deco Glasses (Including tips on removing lenses~)

Hey everyone~

Today's tutorial is kind of...different for this blog x) 

I got a request from a lovely rokku gal named Toka to do a tutorial for deco glasses ^^

I don't know anything about rokku gal, so I just went with the intuitive course of action... meaning that I just did traditional rhinestone decoden on a pair of sunglasses.

 Anyway...if you're interested in seeing how I went about this attempt, please stay tuned~

You will need:

• E-6000 glue (or something else that can be used to permanently adhere plastic to plastic. Before I got serious about my crafting hobby, I just used cheap clear nail polish. That works fantastically ^^)
• Rhinestones (I used three different sizes, but one size will work just fine)
• Toothpicks (or some other dropping tool)
• Sunglasses (mine were like $2 :P)
• A bowl of water

Heat your bowl of water in the microwave for about 2 minutes. It should be hot to the point where you aren't comfortable sticking your fingers in x)
This will loosen the frames of the glasses just enough to be able to push the lenses through~

Push the lenses through the frames of the glasses. Don't worry! It's not like your frames have melted and will be misshapen from the pressure. It was still a little difficult for me to get them through, but it was much easier than it would have been if I'd skipped the water step.

Clear off a space and spread out your materials.

Use a toothpick to spread E-6000 over a small surface at a time. If you're using different sizes of rhinestones, use the larger ones first. Pick up the rhinestones with some leftover E-6000 and place them on the surface of the glasses.

Repeat this step with mid-sized rhinestones,

Lastly, fill in any gaps with your smallest rhinestones.
 

And you're done ^^
I would never wear these myself, but I personally think they would look awesome on lots of other people.

DIY Tutorial: How to Kawaii-ify Your School Supplies

Hi everyone!

Wish your school supplies looked like this?

Well then ladies and gentlemen, stay tuned for this tutorial ^^

Purchase or retrieve some boring white binders.

Paint them in whichever color tickles your fancy. I used regular acrylic paint~

After the paint dries, spray the binder with clear aerosol sealant. I also sprinkled mine with some glitter ^^

This is the point at which this post stops being helpful x). For this particular binder, I added a sparkly ribbon and lace trim with my E6000 glue.

Add bows, flowers, or mini stuffed animals.

This is from last year >< That's why it appears to have been abused.

If the binder you're using has a pouch in front, I recommend just slipping in a piece of scrapbook paper.

Covering it with decorative tape is always an option as well ^^

I left space on all of my binders to add the names of my classes when I get my schedule. Obviously this is optional~

Lashes & Nail Art Supply Haulage + a new blog idea?

So....

...yeah.

Just wanted to begin this as awkwardly as possible.

Anyway! I recently did a ton of shopping on amazon, and I figured that I could feature some things in a haul to introduce a new idea ^^ I'm not going to name the seller here, but if you'd like the information I'd be happy to answer in an email :)

My entire lash and nail haul ^^ (minus one box of lashes. I don't know why I didn't picture them >< forgive me!)

These are the lashes that I forgot to picture in my main photo =X

10 pairs with medium length and volume. These seem like they would be nice lashes to cut in half and apply for subtle volume ^^

Ten pairs (individually packaged) of Hongrun Lashes inn H-R 4. These lashes are verrry long and dramatic...in fact, I'm a little afraid xD I know for a fact that these would look great on girls that actually know what they're doing when it comes to makeup, but this category unfortunately does not include me.

Ten pairs (individually packaged) of Hongrun Lashes inn H-R 30. These have tremendous length and volume. Though I probably won't have much use for them very soon, I do have an idea ^^. I'm happy to have these.

It's been quite awhile since I've treated myself to some new nail supplies, so I figured that now is as good a time as any to grab some of the things that have been on my wishlist ^^

I'm especially excited about the microbeads~

I saw a tutorial on a great nail blog that I'm really interested in trying, and I'll need microbeads to do it :)

This haul was posted as a way to introduce my new undertaking~

I was thinking that it would be a good idea to set up a lash gallery like mszjackiechu (see her gallery here).

I have a whole drawer full of lashes, and you guys may find it useful to see certain lashes on someone else before purchasing them for yourselves (especially if you have a similar eye shape).

What do you guys think of this idea?

Hi guys! First things first...
 I feel like this blog is really impersonal =/
Soooo I'd like some suggestions on the kinds of posts you guys would like to see from me ^^. I have plenty of tutorial ideas, but you can suggest those as well. Do you guys want to see me play with makeup? Clothing? Food? I just feel like I'm stuck in a rut ><. I'm not sure that I want this to be a blog of tutorials exclusively. It's not interesting to everyone xD


I'm pretty excited about this tutorial, because I've been getting lots off compliments on these shoes :)

I nabbed this idea from this original tumblr post. 
I've seen a lot of fairy kei girls wearing winged sneakers in their OOTDs on Tumblr, and they always look awesome. So I made some ^^

You will need:

• sneakers
• a piece of foam
• a hole punch
• scissors

This tutorial is so easy x)

It'll probably end up being like 3 sentences max xD

Draw a rough draft of your wing shape. You probably don't want this to be too much longer than the side of your shoe~

Cut it out ^^

Take out your shoe laces, and place your shoe wing against the side.

Use a pen to mark the piece of foam through each of the shoe lace holes. This is to ensure that you know were to use the hole punch~

Use your hole punch in the areas that you designated with marks.

Lace them up, and you're done ^^.

I reeeallly want to make a pair of super awesomely awesome high top fairy kei sneakers like this:

I could totally DIY these~

But the shoes that I would need to start with are so expensive T_T
