I know I'm pretty late on this T_T, but I've really wanted to make this post.
Better late than never!
I'm going to share with you guys my New Years Eve look (makeup, outfit, and nails), as wells as my resolutions (and judging by the other New Years posts that I've been reading, they aren't so different from a lot of yours).
We'll start with makeup.
These pictures were actually taken on the day before NYE, which is why I'm wearing pajamas =3. The photos are from my "test run" (yes, my makeup looks have to go through test runs before I wear them in public since I'm a total noob when it comes to this).
I'm wearing:
- Sephora Perfecting Cover concealer
- Milani Easyliner in "Espresso"
- Rimmel Lycra Lash Extender mascara
- Unnamed golden color from LORAC "Color Me Couture" eyeshadow palette (on lid, inner corner, and lower lash line)
- Unnamed coppery color in Revlon ColorStay Quad in "Coffee Bean" (outer corner and crease)
I did originally intend to wear lashes, but it just....didn't happen x). I also had no clue what to do in terms of lip color, so when the time came, I slapped on some Benetint and called it a day.
Next up, nails!
I've been slacking off when it comes to nail art lately >_>. I've been extremely discouraged because of the fact that my nails simply refuse to grow nowadays, and I have no clue why -__-.
But for NYE, I decided to get back on track :). This nail art was done to match my outfit, shown below.

Okay, onto my resolutions!
Non-superficial resolutions:
- Start applying for scholarships, and make sure that all of my transcripts and documents are mailed on time
- Get back into my DIY passion
- Overcome my senioritis in time for my AP and IB exams
- Try to be more outgoing
- Grow up
Superficial resolutions:
- Lose at least 15lbs before starting uni in the fall (psshh, not happening)
- Improve my makeup skills and come up with an "everyday" makeup routine
- Keep my nails done at ALL TIMES
Alright guys, that's pretty much it for my NYE look and resolutions :)
Hope you guys all had a fantastic NYE! TTYL! <333333333333

Your make up is so natural and lovely! The nails are super cute, too bad I can't copy it because I wouldn't be able to put on lab gloves over more bulky decorations T____T. But I got a stamping kit from my brother, so I can decorate my nails without making them too 3D, lol.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your resolutions! I'm applying for scholarships etc. too, it's such a pain >.<.
Maybe I'll post some less 3D nail art tutorials :)
DeleteI have a stamping kit as well, but I still haven't bothered with learning how to use it =\
Do you have a science-y major? :D STEM girls unite!
Yeah, I'm a molecular biology and biochemistry major. XD I haven't tried my kit either, too many exams at the moment - I barely manage to keep my nails trimmed and I only use a pale pink OPI nailpolish, because I don't want to offend the professors. XD
DeleteThat nail art looks like it took a long time to do D: I wish I could have those 'gel' nails, but my science teachers would probably tell me off XD Which subjects are you taking in IB? :O And good luck with your uni scholarhships!!! My deadline was in 2012 so I got time to relax now hehe
ReplyDeleteOooh if you come up with a daily makeup routine, I'd love to see a post on it! :D Happy belated new year and I wish you the best in 2013 ^^
It took me about 20 minutes to do, which I guess is kind of a long time :p
DeleteThe only subjects that require labs for me are physics and IB Environmental systems. If they're group labs, I always volunteer to be the person to write the report rather than perform the lab ;P. That way, my nails are never an issue ^^.
Thanks so much Bella! Good luck to both of us in uni :)
You and your whole look is really cute! :D
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your resolutions ^^
By the way! How did you do your hair? I really like it ^O^
DeleteMy friend's birthday is coming up and I'd would like to do that hairstyle, it's so cute! :D
Thanks for your good luck wishes!
DeleteAnd I usually style my hair by putting in mousse and rollers overnight, then taking them out in the morning and straightening the front. If you can't handle overnight rollers, you can use a curling iron and lots of hairspray on the day you'd like to style it. I just prefer overnight rollers because I don't have to use as much heat :)
Are you by any chance mixed? haha, you looks so asian!! I'm half chinese and half african so I was just wondering ^^ Anyways, you look so pretty and I'm totally in love with your hair! My hair is...well, um, typical coarse frizzy hair and I straighten it now and then but because it's so gets so POOFY super fast I've kept it in braids ever since I was...13 D': (I'm 16 now).
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I really love your new look and your style! <33
